Be it known that I, Lewis T. Foreman, a citizen of the United States, residing at Omaha, in the county of Douglas and State of Nebraska, have invented new and useful Improvements in Training-Weights, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to physical culture devices and aims to provide a novel form of weight. to be balanced on the shoulders when exercising, to force the user to hold his shoulders and head erect the brackets resulting in maintaining the body in an erect and healthful position. To this end the invention comprehends the provision of a hollow receptacle formed of any suitable material and provided with an opening or valve by means of which it may be filled and the weight thereof regulated to suit the convenience of the user. This filling also permits of each shoulder being subjected to different weights, resulting in the proper balancing of the shoulders.

One significant aspect and feature of the present invention is an ultraviolet nose protector which is cosmetically pleasing and unnoticeable to the naked eye.  The nose protector can be of either a clear material or of various flesh colored materials, depending upon a person;'s particular skin pigment makeup.

Another significant aspect and feature of the present invention is a nose protector which blocks the sun and protects the nose accordingly.  The nose protector is pleasing and sightly to an individual, and provides the necessary protection to the outdoors person, such as a skier, sailr, or a hunter.

It is an object of this invention to provide an improved means to assist a person in breaking an undesirable habit.

It is a further object of the invention to provide an improved means to assist a person in breaking an undesirable habit which may be used under a variety of different circumstances.

In accordance with the present invention, a wrist band is adapted to be worn by a person desiring to overcome an undesirable habit, such as smoking. The wrist band includes a normally open mercury switch which closes when the person raises his arm. An electrical circuit including a source of power may be included in a case adapted to be clipped on the belt or clothing of the person. The mercury switch is connected to the source of power so that when it is closed by the person lifting his arm, as by moving a cigarette to his lips, a shock is induced in the person.

The present invention relates to a synthetic fecal fluid compound which has an improved dewatering rate thereby making it more useful than existing materials for testing and other procedures where fecal matte is involved. One particular area of usefulness is with respect to the development of personalcare devices such as diapes, training pants and incontinence garments which serve to collect and contain fecal matter.

Many companies, such as the assignee of record, expend large sums of money in the development of and improvement in personal care products including diapers,training pants and incontinence garments. One of the primary criteria in the development of such products is their ability to collect and contain body fluids including urine and fecal matter. While it is often the case that end-of-term development of a new or improved product involves actual experimental consumer testing, much of the initial testing is done on a bench scale in the laboratories. In such situations it is not practical to use actual body fluids. As a result, synthetic materials and substitutes are used. Strange as it may seem, materials used in the past have included mashed potatoes,brownie mix, peanut butte and pumpkin pie filing. In fact the need for such a material is great enough that a synthetic formulation has been commercially produced and sold. SiliClone Studio of Valley Forge, Pa. has marketed a synthetic fecal fluid solid under the trademark FECLONE.

One problem in the use of the previously mentioned materials is their inability to mimic the actual material. Babies, as an example,excrete fecal matter which varies over a wide range of viscosities despite the fact that the water content stays fairly constant. This variance in viscosity/consistency is often due to the babies' diets, health and stage of development. ...

...One major problem with synthetic fecal compounds and their substitutes is the fact that they release their water content or dewater too rapidly. Despite the apparent simplicity of personal care products, their actual structures are very complex. Their ability to absorb and retain body fluids is critically dependent upon the interaction with test fluid and compounds. As a result, the more inaccurate the properties are of the test fluids and compounds, the more inexact will be the testing within the lab. This in turn results in the need for more experimental use testing, higher costs and longer time periods for development. It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a synthetic fecal fluid compound. It is another object of the present invention to provide a synthetic fecal fluid compound with a greater ability to retain water and therefore have a slower dewatering rate.

An exercise method is disclosed for improving the tone of the facial muscles and thereby removing or reducing wrinkles in the overlying skin. A facial muscle underlying a region of skin to be tightened is selected for exercise. The primary stiffener is applied to the surface of the skin over the selected muscle and secondary stiffeners are applied to other regions of the skin which would be creased by contraction of the selected muscle. An exercise weight is attached to the primary stiffener at a location over the selected muscle. The selected muscle is contracted and released repeatedly to lift and lower the weight a predetermined number of times.

The present invention relates in general to arm supports and more particularly concerns a novel article of manufacture for supporting the upper arms in a generally horizontal position. The support is light weight, relatively easy to fabricate, low in cost, and especially useful for relieving arm fatigue of a woman who styles her own hair.

For a number of years, home permanent wave kits have been very popular with many women because attractive hair styling may be obtained at relatively low cost. However, the time required for a woman to complete a home permanent is considerable since each curl must be individually formed by appropriately inserting a curler. As a result, the arms remain extended above the shoulders for long periods of time and become extremely tired. In addition, a large number of time-consuming movements are required to grasp the individual curlers from a dressing table and instert them into the hair.

Accordingly, the present invention contemplates and has as an important object reducing the arm fatigue of a woman styling her own hair.

Another object of the invention is to provide means helpful in reducing the time-motion product in connection with styling one's hair by reducing the extent of arm motion involved in transferring pin curlers from a receptacle to the hair.

It is still another object of the invention to achieve the preceding objects with a low-cost light-weight structure of simple form.

A toy device providing an adjustable belt to encircle the bodyof a user, a self supporting hoop surrounding and spaced from teh belt and connected to the belt by radial elastic members at spaced intervals.

This invention relates to toys and particularly to a toy to be worn on a portion of the body such as the waist or head and which moves vertically and circumferentially about the body portion to which it is attached. The device provides exercise as well as amusement and is designed to provide a large amount of movement of the device with a small movement of the wearer's body.

The fluid filled neck exerciser includes an annulus filled with a fluid such as water and/or air and a head support device. The head support device has attachment members allowing the removable attachment of the annuls, the head support device including adjustment structure allowing adjustment of the size of the head support device for heads of differing sizes. The annulus may be selectively filled with a desired amount of fluid and with the device placed on the head of the user, the head may be rotated to perform exercises such as rehabilitation therapy or muscle development. The fluid filled neck exerciser provides exercise for the entire cervical musculature by movement in predetermined patterns.

Be it known that I, Charles M. Brennan, a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Eyebrow-Shields, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

• The invention relates to eye-brow shields.
• It has been discovered that eye-brows, more particularly the side portions thereof, are worn away by rubbing against the pillows while the person is sleeping, and particularly when patients are confined in bed for an extended period. This wearing away is believed by many to affect the appearance of the person, and the present invention designs to provide a simple device whereby this wearing away may be effectively prevented and whereby also, the eye-brows may be treated with a chemical for the purpose of developing them.
• The invention also designs to provide eye-brow shields which may be conveniently worn while the wearer is asleep and which will effectively prevent eye-brows from being worn away, and whereby a chemical may be applied to the eye-brows, and which are adjustable so as to fit eye-brows of different persons.

• It is one object of the invention to provide exercising apparatus for the several muscles of the body, particularly those of the head, neck and back.
• It is also an object of the invention to provide an apparatus of the character indicated that is mountable on the head of the user and rendered operable by movement thereof.
• Another object of the invention is to provide an exerciser of the character indicated so constructed and arranged that no material friction may develop between the head of the user and the apparatus when the same is in use.
• Still another object of the invention is to provide an exerciser of the character indicated wherein the reaction forces developed between the exerciser and the head of the user are applied to the head on a plane normal to the vertical axis of rotation of the head and a substantial distance below the top of the head.
• Finally it is an object of the invention to provide an exerciser of the character indicated that will be economical to manufacture, simple in form and construction, that may be quickly and easily applied to and removed from the head, that consists of few parts, and that is strong, durable, and highly efficient in its practical application.
